Closing the 2017-18 School Year

Image
The end of the school year has arrived and how fast this year has come and gone.  On the final day--yesterday--Principal Farson presented me with two awards: SCPA Teacher of the Year and a "Timmy" (similar to a Tony) for Tremendous Timekeeper, an award for maximizing learning time for students.  Needless to say, I'm humbled and honored for any accolades from teaching. I do this work because of the love and passion and respect I have for people, especially my students, who I will miss dearly for the next two-and-a-half months.  Thank you to the SCPA students, faculty and parents for allowing me to express my love for teaching and for allowing and supporting me to create caring and supportive families in the classroom. Have yourself a healthy and relaxing summer. I hope we meet again in August, the start of a new school year.

Thank You Video From Kearny Students

One of my students took on the task of making a movie to show how much other students cared for my efforts the past two years. Ceth asked to have a few minutes during class to show the video, which was a total and complete surprise to me. I had no idea why he had requested to use an iPad during lunch, before and after school! Ceth continued to request photos of me and what my favorite song was. Now I know! Thank you to my Kearny buddies. You will not be forgotten.
